ARE YOU MAKING POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE AFFIRMATIONS?

A blog post by: Alejandro Chabán

I have shared with you the importance of affirmations. However, do we really know how to use it and become aware of them?

First, we have the wrong concept of affirmations. We create negative affirmations thinking they are a positive affirmation:

  • I don’t want to be fat
  • I don’t want to live here
  • I don’t want to have this relationship
  • I don’t want to be like my mom/dad
  • I don’t want to be unhappy

We assume that by affirming negatively our brain understands it as positive. This is wrong!

Today, take a couple of minutes. How many times have you thought about what you don’t want? Now, how many times today have you thought about what you want?

Did you see it? We focus our energies on “what we don’t want,” therefore we generate more negativity.

Everything you focus on will remain permanently in your life.

See how the same affirmations above can be transformed:

  • I am healthy
  • I have the possibility of moving
  • I have a stable relationship
  • I am unique and my actions are independent
  • I am free and happy

Always remember to make your affirmations in the PRESENT tense, for example: “I am” “I have.” Even if you don’t believe it, our mind is very obedient, so if you say “I will do it,” “I will have it.” Your idea will go to the future.

Do you want that?

With Love,
Alejandro
